Answers about your Canadian return
45 articles on the T4 box by box, deadlines, printing and mailing a finished T1 General, and how Hypertax bills you. Every figure carries a link to the CRA page it came from, and the figures quoted are the 2026 ones — a return for an earlier year is computed with that year’s own rates, which the review screen shows line by line.

What Hypertax covers, before you read anything else
Four facts that decide whether the rest of this help centre applies to you.
- Canada only, Quebec included
- Hypertax prepares a Canadian T1 General and the provincial or territorial return that goes with it, for every province and territory. If you lived in Quebec on 31 December you get two returns: the federal T1 General carrying the refundable Quebec abatement, and the Quebec TP-1. They go in separate envelopes, one to the Canada Revenue Agency and one to Revenu Québec. Bring the RL-1 your Quebec employer issued alongside your T4 — the TP-1 cannot be prepared without it.
- T4 pay only, for this tax year only
- No self-employment income, no rent, no investments, no foreign income, no earlier tax years, and no changes to a return you have already filed. If your situation does not fit, Hypertax says so before you spend time on it.
- You print it and mail it
- Hypertax gives you a finished PDF, ready to sign and mail to the CRA. It does not send anything for you. CRA NETFILE only accepts a .tax file from software the CRA has certified, and Hypertax is not certified, so mailing paper is the route — and it is a slower route than filing online.
- The numbers come from rate tables, not from a model
- Every figure in your return is produced by published CRA rate tables and fixed rules, and every line on the review screen names the rule behind it. The AI reads your slip and explains the result; it never decides a number on its own.
The help centre explains the forms and the process. It is general information, not tax advice about your situation — see the not-tax-advice notice.
