When you pay
You are charged once, at the download step, after you have seen the finished return. Nothing is charged while you answer questions or upload a slip.

There is one charge and it happens at one moment.
The order of events
- You answer the questions. No charge.
- You upload or type in your slip. No charge.
- You review the finished return on screen, line by line, with every figure visible. No charge.
- You choose to download the PDF. This is the charge.
You see the whole return, including the refund or the balance owing, before you decide whether to pay for it.
What you are paying for
The finished PDF, formatted for the agency, that you print, sign and post. You may download it again from your account for as long as the account exists.
No card is stored unless you say so
Card details go to the payment processor, not to Hypertax. Hypertax keeps the last four digits and the card type so you can recognise a receipt. Nothing is saved for a future charge unless you ask for it.
Nothing recurs
There is no renewal, no annual charge and no plan to cancel. Next year is a new return and a new decision.
If a payment fails
The return is untouched and your answers are safe. Try another card, or another method. If the money left your account but no download appeared, read refunds and billing problems.
