How to file your Canadian return
A Hypertax T1 is filed on paper. Print it, sign the certification, attach the slips the return asks for, and post it to the CRA tax centre for where you live.

Hypertax gives you a completed T1 General as a PDF. Filing it means putting it in the post.
The steps
- Print the whole PDF on plain paper, single sided.
- Sign and date the certification area at the end of the return.
- Attach the information slips and receipts the return asks for, including your T4.
- If you owe money, pay the CRA separately through online banking, My Payment or a remittance voucher. Do not post cash.
- Address the envelope to the CRA tax centre that serves where you live.
- Post it in time for a postmark on or before 30 April 2027.
Why the PDF cannot go through NETFILE
NETFILE accepts only a .tax file produced by software the CRA has certified for that year.
It does not accept a PDF, a scan or an emailed form. Hypertax is not certified for NETFILE,
so a Hypertax return is a paper return. Read
why Hypertax does not e-file.
Where it goes
The CRA has several tax centres and the right one depends on your province and sometimes on your postal code. Read where to mail your Canadian return and confirm the address on the CRA page on the day you post.
Quebec residents
If you lived in Quebec on 31 December 2026 you have two returns to post, not one: the federal T1 General to the CRA tax centre, and the Quebec TP-1 to Revenu Québec. Print, sign and post each one separately. Read filing a Quebec return.
