What happens to your uploaded file
Where a slip image is stored after you upload it, who can see it, how long it is kept, and how to delete it before you finish the return.

A wage slip carries your name, your address, your tax number and your pay. Hypertax treats the image as the sensitive document it is.
Where it goes
The file is encrypted in transit and encrypted where it is stored. It is tied to your account and to the one return you uploaded it for.
Who can see it
You can. Hypertax support staff cannot open it as a matter of course; access requires a specific reason, and every access is written to an audit log that you can request.
Whether a model sees it
The extraction step sends the image to a model to read the printed boxes. If you decline AI consent, that step does not run and you enter the boxes by hand instead, with no loss of function. Read declining AI consent.
How long it is kept
The image is kept while you are working on the return, so you can go back and check a box against it. You can delete it at any time from the documents screen once the boxes are confirmed. Deleting the image does not delete the figures you accepted into the return.
What deleting your account does
Closing your account removes your uploaded documents on the schedule in the retention policy. Read closing your account.
Keep your own copy
Delete the upload from Hypertax if you want to, but keep the paper slip. Both agencies expect you to be able to produce it years later, and Hypertax is not your record keeper.
