More than one job or slip
Two jobs in 2026 means two T4s and one return. Entering every slip is what recovers the CPP, CPP2 or EI you overpaid across those jobs.

You file one return no matter how many jobs you had. You do need every slip before you file.
Add them all
Hypertax lets you add as many T4s as you have. The figures are added box by box, not averaged. Leaving one out understates your income, and the CRA already has a copy from the employer, so the gap is found.
Why leaving one out costs you money
Each employer applies the yearly ceilings on its own, as if it were your only job. Across two jobs you can pay more than the annual maximum.
- Total CPP above CA$4,230.45, CPP2 above CA$416, or EI above CA$1,123.07 comes back to you through the return. Schedule 8 works out the excess.
None of that happens unless every slip is entered.
Slips that are not from an employer
A T4A reporting self-employed commissions or fees is not employment income. That takes your return outside Hypertax. Read situations Hypertax cannot handle.
A job that ended mid-year
A short job still produces a slip, even for a few weeks of work. If you never received one, read your T4 never arrived.
